TELEVISA

Televisa is an encrypted package of five Mexican channels operated by Visat and broadcasting from PanAmSat at 43° West for European viewers. Televisa provides more channels in America, but they´re not possible to receive in Europe. The encryption system is Viaccess and keys are public. To get Televisa in Central Europe, you need 85 cm antenna and any Viaccess card with ID 00D800 and key 08 (for more details, like frequency, go to Lyngsat).

Televisa is a great chance for students of Spanish language to improve their knowledge, because with almost 100% of original Mexican programming, it´s something else than the other two Spanish pay-tv providers - Canal Satelite Digital and Vía Digital. None of Televisa channels that can be received in Europe contains commercial breakes. The time difference between CET and Mexican time is 7 hours.

De Película
This is a true Mexican movie channel, which culd be compared to TCM or Cineclassics, but with the difference that De Película shows old classical Mexican films only, 24 hours a day (mostly in color) and some of them are not bad at all!

Galavisión
A general-entertainment channel, known to many of you from analogua Astra, some 7 years ago. Galavisión is also a part of Vía Digital.

Telehit, Ritmoson Latino
These are two Mexican music channels. Ritmoson is specialized on Latino clips, while Telehit shows US music like Britney Spears or Backstreet Boys as well as clips from Latin America. But there is no way Telehit can be compared to TMF, MCM, or MTV.

Telenovelas
Have you ever dreamt about having a channel broadcasting Telenovelas Latino-Americanas 24 hours a day? Do you like hearing phrases like "Maria es mi hija" or "Soy tu padre"? If yes, Telenovelas is the channel you will love. Also available on Vía Digital platform.
